POST CHRISTMAS, PRE NEW YEARS....AND SOMETHING TOTALLY UNEXPECTED..... "OVER THE EDGE"

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas. I've been struggling with a few things in life. In career. And, I've chosen to channel them into my art, doing what I do best….music. Coming either New Years' Day, or shortly after, I am releasing a brand new album of a different animal. It's aggressive. It's edgy. It's SO left field from my usual writing that with the two music videos that are currently in circulation on YouTube, I've cloned myself from 22 years ago and used that persona as the main visual character to represent this new material. It's also the first predominately  AI album I've thrown out with my name stamped to it. Make no mistake, I can sing these songs. However, I was challenging myself to be consistent with the style and format of the material being presented. I've played keys on everything you'll hear. I've deconstructed every track, put it all back together again, and processed each sound to get what I was looking for. I had a vision in my head. Hell, I even had a smell come through! I thought back to college days. Dorm life (which I never experienced), but the allure of it….The smell of a worn leather jacket, cheap beer, seedy dive bars, my life in NYC circa 2002-2008 (I was there til 2014, but, these years in particular stood out for specific reasons…) Brooklyn, Red Hook, Coney Island, ChaChas, people watching in Washington Square Park--wondering how they function in social settings, etc…. I thought of a lot. Sitting in an old library, reading a good book, surrounded by college kids doing the same, everyone bustling with life, yet longing for something deeper. This is where the lyrics get deep. We go down the rabbit hole from here. You''ve got to get lost in your passion to manifest that joy…the one where you lose all sense of time… to understand where we're going. Disclosure is happening soon….I'll leave it at that. Seek out Bashar…some good advice to be had. Let this album warm you up to this concept. “We don't have souls, we are the souls…." -C.

THE NEW ALBUM IS HERE!

I am happy to announce my next full length album is finally here! Through ElasticStage, I am selling physical CD's and vinyl of my work….This company is based in the UK and does an incredible job with the packaging and distribution of my material. Currently, I have three products on my page there for sale. The new self titled CD is at the top of the page. Please visit:

FALL IS IN THE AIR...FEEL THE LOVE Y'ALL!

Happy September! Apart from tomorrow being my birthday, welcome to fall and the official season of Pumpkin Spice! Yeah I'm a basic bitch for it. Sooooo. First things first, IF you've not already subbed to my Spotify channel, NOW is the time! The link is on the website. You'll see why, once you get there. :)

Second, I will have the limited run of CD's in this week, starting sales at shows near you…specifically this coming Friday at Oak Island when I return to 49th Street Bar & Grill. $10, and if you want it signed, no extra charge! (Just pick metallic gold or silver ink)

Also, I have a VERY special vinyl release coming shortly. It's the 12 inch Maxi Single for “Band Gone Say!” Side A will have the album and radio versions, Side B will have my summer bangers “Glitter & Gold” and "Find It In The Summer)! This is a special moment for me; I've never had a vinyl record of my work EVER. and Whether you're a vinyl purist or collector, DJ, or just a fan wanting to support my work, it will be a NICE keepsake regardless. The album artwork is brilliant, and I've not ruled out the possibilities of dropping more vinyl--even picture discs--later in time. They are pricy to replicate, and I'll sell each for $30, signed or not.

YouTube has two new videos for everyone to enjoy. “Shandi” (a Kiss cover) released last week….although I wasn't too keen on how the lip sync turned out. Remember I'm doing things using AI technology! But I think I made up for it with the followup video “Get Some.” You guys will likely groove to that one MUCH better.

Finally there is a new Tshirt in the webstore--"Backflash Records" logo….yeah, finally got a logo for it. It's sweet. It's cool. Go ahead, order one…..look like a record company mogul. Cheers Y'all, -C.

August Blog (so far!) & other goodies coming soon....

It's been a few weeks since I've last updated you guys….first let me thank the town of Franklin NC for their awesome hospitality when I came the other week to open for 80z Nation at their 11th 80's Flashback Weekend Festival. Rain had been blanketing the state since Thursday, my Friday gig at Cary's Bond Park was cancelled as a result, and when it started pouring along the 5 hour drive to Franklin I must admit I was getting worried. After all, this even had been on the calendar for a year, and I was stoked to play it. Rain poured throughout my segment, but it didn't deter the fans. They either sat under umbrellas, or came out from under them and just danced in the streets. 80z Nation took the stage after myself, and they did not disappoint!

The day after, we went driving around the area to sightsee some points of interest. In Sylva, NC ..not far from Franklin, and completely on a whim--there sat this building off the road…sign reading “American Museum of the House Cat.” Umm, hello? Hell yeah we stopped and had a visit. Upon meeting one of the curators, she immediately recognized me from the night before at the festival, and excitedly offered us free tours. I tipped them though, because there are 3 adorable cats roaming inside and they need to be pampered! This museum is a MUST SEE if you are a cat lover like myself. There is everything to be found inside (art, trinkets, figurines, even a full sized carousel) – all cat related and themed!

This past weekend I kicked off my round of gigs in Atlantic Beach NC at the Tacklebox Tavern on Thursday. I bumped into actress Jaime Pressly too. She is also Kinston NC alumni like myself. Her mom choreographed our performing arts troupe Ovation, as well as many of our theatrical shows when I was in high school. It was great seeing her again. Last time I physically saw her was 1997. Friday I played Riptidez at the other end of the island in Cedar Point, and finished off the weekend at Cru Bar in Beaufort NC.

I am partnering with a company who will allow me to run a small batch of CD's for sale. These will NOT be the next “official” album (that comes later in the year). Rather, a limited PHYSICAL release in jackets that will showcase 11 new singles from it. The actual album will be anywhere from 16-18 tracks. In any case, this limited run will be for sale at forthcoming gigs for $10. If you're nice enough, I might just even sign it! lol Here's the cover art:

THIS COMING WEEKEND EXCITEMENT, FOREIGNER STILL HAVE IT!

Y'all have no clue how excited I am to be doing the two gigs I have this weekend. On Friday, Aug 1st, I'm scheduled to play Bond Park in Cary, NC. Kinda like a summer concert series. Rumor has it 300-500 ppl usually turn up. So I'm STOKED. It's gonna get me ready for the next day, which is the biggie. Headed to Franklin NC to open for the awesome 80'z Nation band at the 11th annual 80's Throwback Festival Weekend. All the proceeds go to the Shriners. Which is equally awesome. I have been fine tweaking my setlist, redoing this, remixing that. And, chipping away at another song that will be on the forthcoming album. I still haven't given it a title, but if it's got any consistency to it like 2023's “Vibes,” count on every song a damn near banger. It's also the first album that I've used an equal combo of both traditional multitracking and AI technology on every song. I'm hearing things that I never wouldve come up with in the first place. Complete game changer. And one of these days, I'd love to share that expertise with some of you technical enthusiasts, in maybe an online tutorial or masterclass teaching songwriting and production while using AI as a valuable tool. Closing off, I'd like to mention Foreigner. Had the opportunity to see them with my better half last night in Durham. After 48 years, this band still has some of the best stage presentation and timeless classics. Mad respect for vocalists Kelly Hansen and Jose Maldonado.

SUMMER HEAT CANCELLATION/NEW MERCH ADDED!

This summer's heat has been a serious party killer. Especially when you are scheduled to perform outdoors, uncovered and in the elements of Mother Nature. This heat dome is no joke, y'all. And sadly, tonight's gig at Mulberry House in Washington, NC has been pulled due to the heat index surpassing 100 degrees F. Better to be indoors and hydrated anyhow….on a separate note, I've added new merch to the webstore! There are tumblers, totes and new shirts to be had. I've expanded the designs so that it includes my ongoing shows as “The Corey Stuart Experience.”  Finally, a quick note about pricing. I have tried so far to keep everything under $30 USD. The hats are the most expensive as they are embroidered. I can tell you, from looking at some of the other artist sites out there, and regardless if they are major performers or bands, there is absolutely zero excuse in selling a t-shirt for $35-$40! Fans should be offered merch for less expensive costs…. just saying. Y'all have a safe, cool and hydrated weekend. -C.

WELCOME TO THE NEW WEBSITE!

After 15 years of being on Facebook, I sadly got knocked off by Meta's new AI algorithm (apparently hundreds of thousands of accounts have been purged by this bastard entity), so I turned to Instagram to forge ahead. For most of my life in NYC I had created a flash based website which accumulated well over 60,000 visits until I made the sad decision to cut ways with it in favor of FB. Never, ever again will I trust FB. You honestly shouldn't too. If you had personal photos, stories, etc (like myself..these were going into the archives for future reference towards my forthcoming book) these are all but gone. Fortunately, most of it I had backed up. Not the stories though. coreystuartofficial.com will be the new home for any and everything on me. I hope you enjoy the site, and feel free to reach out if you have any suggestions or comments. -C.
