It's been a few weeks since I've last updated you guys….first let me thank the town of Franklin NC for their awesome hospitality when I came the other week to open for 80z Nation at their 11th 80's Flashback Weekend Festival. Rain had been blanketing the state since Thursday, my Friday gig at Cary's Bond Park was cancelled as a result, and when it started pouring along the 5 hour drive to Franklin I must admit I was getting worried. After all, this even had been on the calendar for a year, and I was stoked to play it. Rain poured throughout my segment, but it didn't deter the fans. They either sat under umbrellas, or came out from under them and just danced in the streets. 80z Nation took the stage after myself, and they did not disappoint!
The day after, we went driving around the area to sightsee some points of interest. In Sylva, NC ..not far from Franklin, and completely on a whim--there sat this building off the road…sign reading “American Museum of the House Cat.” Umm, hello? Hell yeah we stopped and had a visit. Upon meeting one of the curators, she immediately recognized me from the night before at the festival, and excitedly offered us free tours. I tipped them though, because there are 3 adorable cats roaming inside and they need to be pampered! This museum is a MUST SEE if you are a cat lover like myself. There is everything to be found inside (art, trinkets, figurines, even a full sized carousel) – all cat related and themed!
This past weekend I kicked off my round of gigs in Atlantic Beach NC at the Tacklebox Tavern on Thursday. I bumped into actress Jaime Pressly too. She is also Kinston NC alumni like myself. Her mom choreographed our performing arts troupe Ovation, as well as many of our theatrical shows when I was in high school. It was great seeing her again. Last time I physically saw her was 1997. Friday I played Riptidez at the other end of the island in Cedar Point, and finished off the weekend at Cru Bar in Beaufort NC.

I am partnering with a company who will allow me to run a small batch of CD's for sale. These will NOT be the next “official” album (that comes later in the year). Rather, a limited PHYSICAL release in jackets that will showcase 11 new singles from it. The actual album will be anywhere from 16-18 tracks. In any case, this limited run will be for sale at forthcoming gigs for $10. If you're nice enough, I might just even sign it! lol Here's the cover art:
